Archita Sahu




Archita Sahu  is an famous, successful and beautiful actress of Ollywood industry and model. She played the lead female role in several hit Oriya movies like Babu I Love You, Mu Eka Tumara, Chocolate and Akashe Ki Ranga Lagila with Anubhav. Besides movies, she has recently achieved great success as a model. She was the 1st runner up in Pond's Femina Miss India Kolkata 2013 and won Lakme Absolute Femina Miss Eyeconic eyes. She also won Miss Talented and Miss Stylish Hair titles in the finale.

Archita Sahu is a Trained Odissi dancer, started learning Odissi Dance from 6 year old age. Before she entered into acting, she was a classical dancer. She has completed Visharad in Odissi from Akhil Bharat Mahavidyalaya. Archita was born in Bhubaneswar. She completed her schooling from D.M School and B.Tech graduation from KIIT University. She is also won National Scholarship in Odissi dance.In 2004, she was crowned Miss Kalinga.

Her first Oriya film was O My Love in 2005. To her credit she has many superhits and 100-day blockbusters. She is now adjudged as the top actress in Oriya film industry. Archita has a huge fan following in Odisha. Besides acting, she is involved in modelling and social work. She has received the Best Newcomer and Best Actress awards for her celluloid performances. Her pairing with Sabyasachi has been quite successful.


She is the only actress in Oriya film industry to bag State Award as best actress three times, awarded by Govt of Odisha. She is presently the Odisha State Ambassador of UNICEF and Govt. of Odisha for "Eradication of child labour". She is also the ambassador of Junior Red Cross. She was the only Oriya actress to be a part of IPL 5 as the brand ambassador of Deccan Chargers.

Anubhav Mohanty


Ollywood Super Star Anubhav Mohanty born on 24 December 1981. He is an Odia actor and also politician in the state of Odisha. He was made his debut in the blockbuster movie I Love You in 2004 opposite actress Namrata Thapa. The veteran actor/director Hara Pattnaik was gave him the first chance as a Hero. Hara Pattnaik is the director of this movie, same year he act in Saathire and Barsha My Darling. After that he was gave lots of movies to Ollywood industry.



            Again In 2012 his movie Balunga Toka was got blockbuster movie in Ollywood industry. After the success of Balunga Toka he created his own production house named Vishnupriyaa Arts & Graphics. Something Something is the first movie of his own production house and it was the biggest hit of 2012. It is the only Oriya movie to date that has run 115 days in Bengaluru. Anubhav made his debut in the Bengali film industry with the movie Saathi Amaar opposite Rachana Banerjee in a special appearance.


   He completed his schooling from DAV public school, Cuttack, Odisha. He did his graduation in commerce from Christ College, Cuttack. He married Oriya actress Barsha Priyadarshini on 8 February 2014. He started his career appearing in Oriya albums. He has featured in 20–30 Oriya album video songs. He is one of the highest paid actor in Ollywood.


On 27 April 2013, he joined the regional political party BJD. He was elected to Rajya Sabha uncontested in June 2014.

Siddhanta Mahapatra



        Siddhanta Mahapatra born 4 May 1966. His father Dr. Manmohan Mohapatra and his mother are doctors. Siddhanta Mahapatra is an Odia film actor and political figure from the state of Odisha in India. Sidhanta Mahapatra made his film debut with Sradhanjali.

He was elected to the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha in 2009 and 2014 respectively as a member of the Parliament of India.


          Siddhanta was born at Brahmapur, Odisha. He completed his schooling from St. Vincent's Convent School, Berhampur, and did his under graduation and graduation in commerce from D.D. College, Keonjhar. He completed his master's degree from the Institute of Marketing and Management, Delhi. He is married to former actress Mama Mishra, and has a son, Sai Samarth and a daughter. He was also married actress Rachana Banerjee and due to some personal problem both are divorced. 
            
             His first Odia film came in 1993 at the age of 27 at the behest of his cousin brother. He has acted in more than 150 films. His debut film, Shradhanjali, starred Lekha Nanda as the female lead.

Siddhanta Mahapatra joined Biju Janata Dal in 2009 and contested as MP from Berhampur constituency in the 2009 "15th Lok Sabha" Election. He won the election and is the Member of Parliament for Berhampur constituency. He has won the 2014 General election for the second time by a thumping margin of nearly 1 lakh votes amidst stiff competition from UPA and NDA and retained his seat. He is a Successful, Popular and a positive thinking person.

Bijay Mohanty


Bijay Mohanty is a multi-talented film actor of Ollywood. He is one of winning actor of National Film Awards and has played diverse roles in film, television serials and in various roles on the drama, small screen program.



He was born on 8th April 1950 at Pandiri, Kendrapara District from father Adikanda Mohanty and mother Shantilata Mohanty. He completed his study from Baripada and He did his graduation in BA. In real life he is a good and genteel man and he loves his nearest peoples and also his fans.
  
           He joined the NSD and passed successfully. That time Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Babbar, Om Puri etc are also with him as classmates. Up to 1975 he was acted in the theatres and stayed in Delhi. After returning to Odisha, he devoted himse as a Actor and Director.



                 On 1977 first time he act in the Oriya film film Chilika Tire which was won the National Award for that year. Initially he was opted mostly for negative roles in Naga Phasa, Samay Bada Balaban, Danda Balunga, Sahari Bagha, Chaka Bhaunri and Chaka Akhi Sabu Dekhuchi. He has acted almost all kinds of roles ranging from hero, villain, comedian, character roles etc.
                       He has married one of beautiful actress of Ollywood Industry Tandra Ray. Both are acted in a number of films ot each other. He is the retired professor from Drama department of the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. 




Sri Jagannath, Subhadra, Asara Aloka, Apekhya Re, Sara Akasa, Samaya Chaka, Sakalara Apekhya Re, Mahayagyan, Nadekhile Loka Dekhe and Bidhatara Khela are the some popular television serials. On 27 February 2014 he joined Indian National Congress and contest 2014 general election from Bhubaneswar lok sabha.
 

Hara Pattnaik



        Hara Pattnaik was an Odia film actor, director and screenplay writer. In a career spanning three decades, Hara Pattnaik acted in more than 80 movies, directed 20 films and acted in some TV serials. He was instrumental in introducing other actors including Anubhav Mohanty, Sabyasachi Mishra and Babushaan. He died on 13 January 2015 in a battle with cancer.

Born on 12, October 1958 in Katak, Hara Pattnaik started his film career in 1977 as an assistant director to Sisir Mishra for the film Suna Sansara (1978). He appeared first as an actor in 1985 in the film Sahari Bagha.

He entered the industry when Dukhiram Swain was reigning king of villains in Odia Movie Industry. But Hara Pattnaik, changed the template of the baddie in Odia Film Industry with his urbane, sophisticated demeanor and dialogue delivery. As an ace reel villain, whom people loved to hate, Pattnaik could be menacing on the screen without hamming and communicated more with his mannerisms. He looked really menacing with his burning eyes - full of lust, greening teeth, heavy tone and punchy dialogues written especially for him. While Dukhiram Swain represented old world villains like evil zamindars, land lords and stubborn father; Hara Pattanaik explored the new age evil like son of the land lord or zamindar who always one step ahead of his father, rapist & merciless killer.
 

After establishing himself as lead villain in Odia Movies he he ventured into the role of director in 1990 through the film Daiba Daudi. The movie was remake of Hindi hit Aradhana. While Aradhana has no villain, but in Daiba Daudi he introduced himself as the main antagonist. Daiba Daudi is a classic case of how remake should be made. With melodious music by great Akshaya Mohanty the movie was a big hit. And thus Hara Pattnaik's journey as director started. In most of his movies he directed, he himself credited with "Story, Screenplay & Direction by Hara Pattnaik" with is famous signature in Odia. I can vividly remember, after the success of Daiba Daudi, Hara Pattnaik was obsessed with 'Six letter movie titles' which he considered lucky charm for him. His next movie was 'Kapala Likhan', a six letter movie title, which became a hit. His obsession with six letter movie title continued with next release 'Bhagya Hate Dori' which was a moderate success.

As a director, he gave several upcoming actors their first break in cinema. Among those who made it big in Odia Movie Industry after getting a break under him are megastars Anubhav Mohanty (I Love You (2004)), Babushan (Romeo: The Lover Boy (2009)) and Sabyasachi Mishra (Pagala Premi (2007)). His last directed movie was Om Sai Ram (2012).

Hara Pattnaik acted in few TV serials also. I can vaguely remember a TV serial was being telecasted on DD Odia in late eighties in which Dukhiram Swain was playing an evil land lord and Hara Pattnaik was playing his son, but surprisingly a positive character. In fact Hara Pattnaik was hero of that serial. He was riding a Yezdi Motor cycle. I can't remember exact name of that serial, but it was something like Dharmavatar or Dharmadhikari. In those days DD Odia was being telecasted for only 2 hours in every evening.
 

The 55-year-old ace reel villain had undergone treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore with an advanced stage of blood cancer detected in April 2008. After successfully battling blood cancer, Hara Patnaik, returned moviedom with a bang. Om Sai Ram, was his first film since his recovery in 2012 to hit the theaters. But his battle with Cancer was far from over. Patnaik’s condition had deteriorated for the last one and a half years during which he spent most of his time in the hospital. The veteran actor, whose blood group was the rare B Negative, needed frequent doses of blood platelets to survive. On 13 January 2015, he lost the battle & passed away in a private hospital of Bhubaneswar. He was 56.
 

He is survived by his wife Jharana Patnaik and two daughters. His extended family includes leading film personalities like his sister-in-law actress Sadhana Parija (Runu) and her husband director Himanshu Parija (Chandi).
 
During his career, he got several state-level awards and accreditation from media and Odia cine public at large. The 10th Fitfat Bio-scope Award was bestowed upon him in 2013.

Uttam Mohanty



Uttam Mohanty is one of the most popular Ollywood stars. Uttam Mohanty was born at Mayurbhanj. He acted more than 135 Odia films and in 30 Bengali films. He also acted in Hindi film Naya Zaher along with Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty. Uttam now opted seriously for being an actor, and slowly stabilised his position in the Oriya film industry



He completed his early education from M.K.C High School & M.P.C. college of Baripada, After matriculation he joined Maharaja Purnachandra College for intermediate in science. During his college days he was inclined more towards acting. After completing graduation in commerce he went to Ludhiana for chartered accountancy. 

In 1977 he debut with film Abhiman which was a box office hit movie for that year, Sadhu Meher was the director of this movie. His Co-actress Rita Chand was also debuting in that film. He got an offer from director Dhir Biswal for his upcoming film titled Gouri. Later that role was given to Prasanta Nanda. The next film he did was "Pati Patni" opposite Mahasweta Ray. Then a streak of films like "Nijhum ratira sathi", "Chinha Achhinha", "Ramayana", Tapasya, Ram Balram happened. By the time he was established as a romantic star. the best time of his career is 1980s and he dominated the Oriya film industry. He excelled in all kinds of roles: Romantic, Village Lad, Character. Abhiman, Danda Balunga, Bhakta Salabega are even remembered today for his stupendous acting.


In the early eighties he played in almost 20 movies opposite leading actress Mahasweta Ray (Rasmi Ray). Though they fell in love and decided to marry, the love did not last long, and the pair separated. Over fifty of his films are opposite Aparajita Mohanty, his wife. They first appeared together in Astaraga (1982), and married on 17 May 1987 in Municipality Guest House, Bhubaneswar. Other heroines who have acted opposite him include Anita, Sujata, Tandra, Deepa, Baisali, Subhra Pati, and Rachana Bannerje. He was also contributed to music albums and Bhajaas.
Uttam Mohanty now lives in Bhubaneswar. Currently, he is working for Oriya tele-serials and movies, and interested in enhancing his knowledge in the area of politics. He and Aparajita Mohanty have a son named Tanmay Mohanty(Babusan). Now days Babusan one of famous actor of Ollywood industry.

Mihir Das



Mihir Kumar Das is one of most successful and sensation star of Ollywood industry. He was born in 17 February 1966 at Mayurbhanj. He was married to singer and film artist Sangita Das. She died in 2010. He debuted in the Oriya film industry with an art film School Master and then in commercial (non-art) film Mathura Bijay in 1979. In his film he comes in new character and new look. Now days he is the common face in new movies of Ollywood.


He came to limelight with his stunning performance in Pua Mora Bholashankar and he received wider applause and recognition for his performance. This film is directed by Hara Patnaik.


He has received several awards, notably Best Actor for his films Laxmi Pratima in 1998 and Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni in 2005 and Best Supporting Actor award for his films Rakhi Bandhili Mo Rakhiba Mana in 2002 and Prema Adhei Akhyara in 2010 from the Odisha state government.
